Toshiba has been making laptops for what seems like forever, and for many consumers, the machines have been synonymous with quality and value. The company produces computers for both bargain hunters and enthusiasts alike.

Today, the company announces a laptop that targets both laptop and tablet shoppers with the all-new Satellite Radius 11 Convertible, running Windows 8.1. It is extremely versatile and should appeal to consumers looking for value.

"Move seamlessly from work to play -- and back again. A unique, 360-degree, two-axis, 'flip-and-fold' hinge enables five distinct usage modes: Laptop, Tablet, Tabletop, Presentation and Audience. A vibrant 11.6-inch diagonal, HD TruBrite touchscreen display makes the most of the five viewing modes, giving plenty of room to consume as well as create", says Toshiba.

The manufacturer further explains, "sleek, slim and lightweight at less than three pounds and topped with a trendy patterned light gold finish, Satellite Radius 11's compact design makes it easy to carry. Featuring a fanless design, the laptop can be configured with the latest Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, up to 4GB of RAM and either 32GB of speedy Flash memory or a spacious 500GB hard drive. The laptop also includes an HD webcam, plus a range of ports, including one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, HDMI and an SD card slot".

Clearly, these specs are not top of the line, but that is OK, as the starting price is a low $329. This is more than enough power for a family or college student and the HDMI port allows connection to a bigger monitor for when the 11.6 inch screen feels cramped.

If you are interested, you can buy the machine starting October 26th from major retailers or from Toshiba directly. With Christmas coming up, this may be an inexpensive way to "wow" a loved one with an impressive gift without breaking the bank.

Will you buy the Satellite Radius 11 Convertible? Tell me in the comments.
