Druva helps enterprises to protect and govern data

Data search

When a company's information was held all together in a single data center it was easy to keep control, to protect it and to ensure it didn't fall into the wrong hands.

But today with data in the cloud and on mobile devices locating, tracking, monitoring and preserving sensitive details is a much harder task.

To tackle the problem data protection specialist Druva has unveiled its inSync Proactive Compliance Solution. This is an enhancement to its flagship inSync product that offers a proactive approach for addressing today’s data governance challenges within the increasingly mobile workforce.

With inSync enterprises get a single platform that combines data availability, backup, restore, and share as well as comprehensive governance -- compliance, archival/search and audit -- across their entire end-user information on endpoints and cloud.

"Once upon a time, data was centralized in the data center and kept compliant with data regulations and enterprise policies. The modern enterprise is mobile first, with more employees relying on endpoints and cloud services to get their work done," says Jaspreet Singh, CEO of Druva. "The new cloud or BYOA wave is having even a greater business impact that than the BYOD wave. The dispersed data landscape it has created, with so much data outside the firewall, limits any business' ability to protect and control how data is accessed and used. Druva gives IT the ability to reclaim control of this data by helping these organizations ensure their data, regardless of location, is fully protected and governed".

The main benefits of inSync are proactive compliance delivering enhanced governance capabilities with a centralized compliance dashboard. Compliance, security and legal teams can drill-down to view-by-data source, compliance risk type, risk level, and more to make quick assessments and investigate infractions.

Compliance and information security teams can subscribe to regulation or policy specific reports, which are automatically generated and emailed to subscribers when potential risks are discovered.

Organizations can select from pre-defined compliance templates (HIPAA, GLBA, PCI, etc) or customize their own and inSync will automatically scan, identify and classify risks and alert as necessary.

Companies that conduct internal investigations or need to identify sensitive data (HR data, IP, financial records) can use inSync's deep-search capabilities to pinpoint materials across their end-user data sources. Companies can ensure the integrity of their data for both compliance and legal needs by capturing extended meta-data and creating a unique fingerprint for every file in the system.

More information about inSync is available on the Druva website.
