Prior to Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Microsoft slashes Surface Pro 4 and Xbox One prices

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is on the horizon, and many fans of Microsoft's desktop operating system are excited. It's not hard to see why -- this is the best version of Windows ever, and it's about to get better at no extra charge.

Prior to the much-anticipated update, however, Microsoft is slashing prices on two of its most popular Windows 10 devices -- the Surface Pro 4 and Xbox One. While not all models are getting the discount, budget hunters should be excited.

First off, the 500GB Xbox One is being discounted to $250. True, a newer model -- the Xbox One S -- is coming soon with more storage and the ability to play 4k Blu-ray discs, but if neither of those things interest you, this new price is an absolute steal.

The other device seeing a discount is the Surface Pro 4. While only the Core m3/128GB base model is seeing a $150 price cut, the new $750 price is a great way for someone to score one of the best Windows 10 computers on the market. The m3 processor is actually quite peppy, and should be satisfying for those that do modest tasks, such as word processing, web surfing, and the like.

If you want to buy a discounted Xbox One 500GB, you can check any retailer such as Amazon or Best Buy for the newly reflected discount. For the m3 Surface Pro 4, I would recommend dealing with Microsoft directly here.

Will you buy either one of these discounted devices? Tell me in the comments.
