Booq unveils 'Pack Pro' laptop backpack

As someone who often works on the go, I find myself in various coffee shops -- such as Starbucks -- during the week. While I obviously want to use the free Wi-Fi, their caffeinated beverages keep me fueled-up too. Coffee is one of the best productivity boosters, folks.

Inside Starbucks, I am surrounded by other people doing the same. They are using expensive Windows laptops and MacBooks, drinking pricey coffee drinks, and yet there is one area they seem to skimp -- the carry bag. They use ugly bags that seemingly offer little protection. This is crazy to me, as a good bag can not only prevent damage to your devices, but improve the overall appearance too -- it is also fashion. Today, Booq announces its latest such bag, called simply 'Pack Pro'.  It looks to be an excellent choice for professionals that value high-quality laptop backpacks.

"Because the original Cobra pack was a favorite among Booq fans, we wanted to evolve the design to include several key upgrades such as a larger, industrial plastic coil zipper, interior mesh pockets for added storage options, simplified straps for easy carrying and a redesigned front panel to better hold the pack’s shape and give a boxier, rigid look. The result is a more refined Pack Pro that gives Booq fans, who often travel for business, a comfortable solution for carrying their gear while maintaining the features they loved from the original Cobra pack", says Kema Subsomboon, Lead Product Designer, booq.

The company also explains, "crafted from the highest quality materials, Pack Pro’s rugged, 1680 denier ballistic nylon exterior with water-repellent coating and YKK high-performance zippers keep items safe from the elements outside. The backpack features a lightweight, rigid frame and a highly protective laptop compartment with a water-resistant zipper to keep a 16.4-inch laptop safe while traveling. Two zippered, mesh side pockets provide quick access to a water bottle or umbrella, while a hidden back pocket keeps an iPad, passport, tickets and important items secure. Keeping comfort equivalent to convenience, the Pack Pro also offers breathable back padding and a comfortable, ergonomically designed shoulder strap, making it the ideal backpack to move your gear".

The Booq Pack Pro offers the free Terralinq tracking system. If you aren't familiar, it is a way to possibly retrieve your bag if it is ever lost. Inside the backpack there is a small metal plate with a serial number. You register that number with Booq, including your contact information. Then, if you lose your bag and someone finds it, they can report it to the company so you can be reunited. Of course, this depends on an honest person finding your belongings...

In my 2016 Back to School guide, I recommended the wonderful Booq Daypack, which is an absolute bargain at around $80. The 'Pack Pro' offers even more features and an arguably more professional look; it should prove to be superior. Of course, it carries quite the steeper price at $295.

True, while that isn't inexpensive, high-quality bags rarely are. In this case, the Pack Pro looks well-constructed, making it an investment in protecting not only your current laptop, but future computers too. If you are spending potentially thousands of dollars on a laptop, spending less than $300 to protect it when on the go is not unreasonable.

If you are interested in purchasing the Booq Pack Pro you can get it here immediately. While it is designed for professionals, anybody that values quality should take a look.
