Along with your list of items you are willing to trade, Intellibarter allows users to create 'want lists' to let other registered marketers know what you are looking for.

Intellibarter.com has categories ranging from paperback books to computer equipment. Browsing the categories gives a short description of each item, the condition of the item, and an approximate worth. Choosing the item gives a longer description along with various other details regarding the product, as well as the chance to view the traders want list.

Once an item of interest is found, you can use the traders want list to offer them a deal, or if necessary add a monetary amount to the deal. Up to three items can be used to trade with in this unique forum of exchange. Deal finalization works much like auction sites where e-mail exchanges are made.

Upon registration you are given a Personal Barter Page where you can add or modify any items on your Personal Inventory List or your Want List. Users can give and view feedback on traders in the database to get a feel for who they are dealing with.

While Intellibarter.com offers its services free during its opening and promotion, in the spring of 2000 they will be offering tokens to purchase for just 50 cents which allow you to trade your items.
