Microsoft Launches Windows 2000 Technology Guarantee

Microsoft has announced that any person who acquires a qualified version of Windows NT between January 1, 2000 and February 17, 2000 will automatically receive upgrade to Windows 2000 free of charge with the exception of shipping and handling charges.

Qualifying versions of Windows NT include Workstation 4.0, several variations of Server 4.0, and Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise Edition. For a complete list visit the Technology Guarantee Page.

If you are a user that acquired Windows technologies through the Open Liscense agreement, you need to call (800) 248-0655 and provide them with your Microsoft Open Liscense Authorization Number to receive the free upgrade. International customers need to consult their country's Microsoft Web site to see if they are offering the Technology Guarantee.

For those in the United States or Canada, the free upgrade can be received by redeeming the retail software coupon, the coupon for software on pre-installed servers, or the French Canadian coupon.
