Rumors have been circulating for some time about the arrival of a new Xbox One console, and now an image of the new model has leaked out. Known as the Xbox One S, the updated console is not just slimmer than the current Xbox One, but also boasts additional features.

Widely expected to be announced at the E3 expo which kicks off on Tuesday, Microsoft describes the Xbox One S as 'sleeker, slimmer, sharper'. At the moment no details of pricing or launch date are known, but the leak does gives up interesting titbits.

The S in the name clearly stands for slimmer (or smaller), as the store image unearthed by a forum member on NeoGAF sees Microsoft proclaim it to be a '40 percent smaller console'. On top of this, it is described as having a '2TB hard drive, 4K Ultra HD video, High Dynamic Range, a streamlined controller, and vertical stand'.

Speaking to Ars Technica, a Microsoft source said that 4K support will largely amount to the console's menu system, as well as in 4K streaming apps further down the line. As you can see from the image above, the Xbox One S is white this time around. We'll learn more at E3 this week.
