Best Windows apps this week

One-hundred and ninety-five in a series. Welcome to this week's overview of the best apps, games and extensions released for Windows 8.x and Windows 10 in the past seven days.

Plenty of updates were released this week, but many companies -- including Microsoft -- publish release notes only sporadically if at all.

As always, if I missed an app or game that has been released this week that you believe is particularly good, let me know in the comments below or notify me via email instead.

App of the week

Perfect Flicker

Perfect Flicker is a third-party Flickr client for Windows 10 that supports exploration of photos posted to Flickr, and plenty of account management options for Flickr users.

You may sign in to a Flickr account to manage photos, favorites, albums and more, download photos, post comments, or upload photos to the account.

The client displays photos as a thumbnail stream in its interface; a click opens a full view of the selected photo.

Exploration features are available to non-Flickr users as well. You may browse Flickr by trending tags for instance, and download any photo you come across to the local device.

Perfect Flicker is an excellent app for Windows 10 that is well designed and bursting with functionality.

Other apps

Demolition Derby Multiplayer

Demolition Derby is a racing game in which you try to wreck your opponents' cars before your car does not move anymore.

You can play the game against bots, or join online matches against other players. Options include racing against friends in private matches, or against random opponents in public matches.

You may choose your own car, race on different tracks, and level up your character while playing the game.

Jigsaw Puzzle Games -- Treasure Hunt

If you like jigsaws, Treasure Hunt may just be the game for you.

You solve jigsaws in the game by completing quests in each level. You may need to solve it in a certain period of time in a level for instance to proceed to the next in line.

WeChat for Windows 10

The official WeChat client for Windows 10 brings along with it options to chat with other users using text and audio.

The app supports file attachments and photos, and fun stuff like animated stickers.

You may sign in using an existing WeChat account, but there is no option to create an account from within the app.

WOWSee

WOWSee is an image and PDF viewer for Windows 10 that supports touch, mouse and keyboard input.

It displays contents based on your specification in its interface on start, and supports a variety of options to interact with it.

You may view images or PDF documents for instance, sort or group them in various ways, or add them to your favorites for faster access.

The app supports GPS as well, and you may use it to group photos based on GPS data (if available).

xoChat

The free IRC client for Windows 10 offers plenty of options. Join one of the preset servers or add your own, run commands on join, and add your favorite channels to the left sidebar for easy joining.

The client supports a basic set of features when it comes to interacting with channels or individual users.

You may message users privately, but there is no option implemented currently to do anything else, such as transferring files.

Notable Updates

AutoCAD 360 update brings fast and accurate drafting with support for keyboard shortcuts.
