Intelligent MDM puts data in the hands of business users

Enterprise information management (EIM) and master data management (MDM) have in the past been complex tasks that have meant tight control of data by the IT department.

Now though MDM specialist Semarchy is launching a new intelligent solution called xDM, designed to deliver control of data to the business user.

"Traditionally, the MDM user experience has been so complex, that it has lived solely within the IT department. This is not the intelligent way to present such a crucial enterprise tool," says Salah Kamel, CEO and founder of Semarchy. "Today we're unveiling the industry's most significant breakthrough in MDM. Our new xDM solution puts data stewardship in the hands of the business user. This will allow them to make better data-driven decisions to meet internal and external company goals."

Based on Google's Material Design Language, xDM's new interface drives an unparalleled user experience, offering simplicity and responsive design that ensures ease-of-use to deliver faster business value and speedier adoption.

Features include a step-by-step user interface called 'Steppers' that speeds user adoption by adapting itself to business personas within the context of their roles, helping transform data consumers into data producers.

Advanced application customization allows things like dynamic context-aware forms, collections, fields, rules, actions, and menus to improve productivity and efficiency. Records can be displayed in user interface-responsive grids, lists, and tables bringing master data to any device including smartphones and tablets. There’s also a fast visual interrogation feature that makes it easy to create queries and graphs.

Semarchy is unveiling xDM at Enterprise Data World, this week in Atlanta, GA. You can find more information on the company's website.
