Microsoft launches Windows Insider Program for Business

Yesterday saw not only the release of the first Redstone 3 build of Windows 10, but also the launch of the Windows Insider Program for Business.

This new program works in much the same way as the existing Windows Insider program, but this time there is a focus on IT professionals and businesses. It will give Microsoft the opportunity to gather more information from big customers, and allow businesses to try out new features ahead of their official launch.

It's not clear quite how many businesses will be willing to try their luck with Insider builds -- just the other day, Microsoft warned that the early Redstone 3 builds might be a little "painful" to use. It is possible to sign up to take part in the program using business credentials, and participants can try out the latest updates and refinements to OneCore.

Announcing the new business-centric Insider program, Microsoft says:

You now have the option to download Windows 10 Insider Preview builds using your corporate credentials. This option will also increase the visibility of feedback submitted by you and others in your organization -- especially on features that support your productivity and business needs. We’ll also help you deepen your connections with the IT Pro community, collect feedback within your organization, and resolve blocking or critical issues to better support your organization’s needs sooner.

Incorporating Insider Preview Builds into your deployment plans enables you to prepare your organization for the next update of Windows 10, to deploy new services and tools more quickly, to help secure your applications, and to increase productivity and confidence in the stability of your environment.
