Microsoft's free cloud migration assessment sells the idea of hybrid cloud to enterprises

For enterprises, datacenters are at the heart of operations. With Azure, Microsoft has a vested interest in encouraging enterprises to move these operations to the cloud, and it is with this in mind that the company has launched a cloud migration assessment tool.

The free tool has been designed to give enterprises a way to determine whether it would make sense -- and how much it would cost -- to move to a hybrid cloud solution.

Microsoft says: "To help with this transition, Microsoft is offering a free cloud migration assessment designed to provide you with detailed information based on the specific configurations of your own datacenter."

After providing details of the resources that are currently used, enterprise customers can be told what it would cost to move to Azure, and what the on-going costs will be.

The basic tools on offer will help enterprise customers:

  • Identify all the servers across your datacenter environment
  • Analyze your workload configuration
  • Estimate the initial cost benefits of moving to Microsoft Azure
  • View and export the results into a customized report

Head over to the cloud migration assessment website to try out the tool.
