New platform simplifies securing cloud workloads

The cloud is a dynamic environment and the threats it faces are equally fluid, whether they're sophisticated cyber attacks or insider threats.

Cloud security company Lacework is launching a new tool called Polygraph that detects breaches, manages insider threats, delivers insights into workloads, and offers graphical investigation tools for public, private and hybrid cloud workloads.

It's been developed to provide end-to-end visibility, so security professionals can connect and visualize elements of an attack or insider threat enabling them to respond more quickly and effectively. Complex cloud data center architectures typically feature thousands of similar machines, processes, users, containers, and applications along with their activity. Lacework Polygraph reduces redundant events and notifications by automatically distilling information into a handful of analysis groups based on behavior.

The platform reveals hidden component relationships and interactions, enabling faster breach remediation and insights. All the information admins need is presented in a visual interface that makes it easy to explore and drill down into workloads for security and data center operations. The platform supports a wide variety of security and operations tasks, from exploit detection and insider threat management to forensics analysis and DevSecOps analytics that would otherwise require several different products.

"Lacework is approaching cloud workload security from a completely new direction," says Jack Kudale, the company's CEO. "We realized that every datacenter, every workload, every user, every container, every application and every process has its own truth. Inspired by this insight, we spent the last two years creating the industry’s first zero-touch cloud workload security solution that makes cloud workload security operations dramatically more effective, making day-zero exploit detection possible."

Lacework Polygraph is available now, you can find out more and sign up for a 14-day free trial on the Lacework website. It's also available on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) marketplace.
