Facebook rolls out Trending News to its mobile apps

We'll forgive you if you've lost track of all of the changes Facebook has introduced to the News Feed over the years -- it's often something of an experimental playground. The social network's latest idea is a dedicated "Trending News."

The section is currently rolling out to mobile users, and is something of an extension of Facebook's Trending Topics. It is making its way out to Android and iOS users in the US.

The section is fairly self-explanatory, providing access to news stories that are currently proving popular. iOS users in the US should already been able to see the section in the Facebook app's main menu, and it’s currently undergoing testing for Android devices as well.

While undeniably similar to Trending Topics, Trending News feels rather more polished, and has a far better look to it. Now, full headlines are displayed rather than just a few words or topic headings as you can see in this image shared by TechCrunch:
