Silicon Power launches diminutive QP70 10000mAh Quick Charge USB power bank

Literally nothing in life is worse than when your device runs out of juice and you are nowhere near an outlet. OK, maybe I am exaggerating -- there definitely are worse things. With that said, it does stink when it happens. It can feel like you are without oxygen when you are disconnected from the internet, for instance. Not to mention, when it comes to smartphones, a dead battery can prevent you from calling 911 in an emergency.

That's why I always travel with a USB power bank when possible. These devices can keep your phone, tablet, or other devices topped off when you are not near an outlet. A power bank is also essential during a power outage. People that live in hurricane zones, for instance, should definitely own one.

Today, Silicon Power launches its new 10000mAh power bank. Called "QP70," it offers Quick Charge technology, dual-port connectivity, and a diminutive body. A small size is preferable, as it takes up less space in a pocket or bag.

"At roughly the same size as a credit card, the QP70 still packs a punch with a 10,000mAh battery. It’s equipped with the versatility of 2 outputs (1 USB Type-A and 1 Type-C) and 2 inputs (Micro- USB and Type-C). The rounded edges provide an ergonomic grip, which totally synergize with its size for a comfortable grip while on-the-go," says Silicon Power.

The company further says, "Charge up to 2.5 times faster with 18W Power Delivery (PD) via Type-C and QC3.0 via USB Type-A. Plus, charge the QP70 itself in only 3.5 hours compared to 6 hours on similar non-fast-charge- enabled models, thanks to the bi-directional Type-C port which allows for rapid input charging."
