Trend Micro Beefs Up Corporate Messaging Security

Trend Micro on Tuesday enhanced its lineup of security products for corporate messaging, offering new and enhanced antivirus and anti-spam measures, as well as protection for the content within those messages. The company says its products come at the perfect time as threats to corporate environments seem to be on a marked increase.

As different messaging tools evolve to add more capabilities and features, so do spam and virus threats. New threats are expected to emerge, and Trend Micro believes that its integrated support model will help to minimize them.

"Our security solutions integrate with other products and services under Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy, providing the integrated, comprehensive protection businesses need to secure their corporate network," Max Cheng, executive vice president at Trend Micro said in a statement.

The company had already been providing protection for Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, and Microsoft SharePoint products, all of which received an update today.

However, today's release will also add IM security for Microsoft's Office Live Communication Server. Trend Micro says the newest addition to its lineup will help to combat the spread of IM worms through corporate networks.

The company says it remains committed to providing security solutions for products from Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle.

Pricing on the products will be on a "per user" basis with lower prices for more licenses. For example, companies with 501 users could expect to pay anywhere from $11.39 USD to $21.20 USD per user depending on the product selected. Discounts are available to those purchasing multiple products.
