ViewSonic VP2785-4K 27-inch UHD display has 99 percent Adobe RGB, HDR10, USB-C
There is no shortage of ultra high definition (UHD) monitors nowadays. Prices for 4K displays have dropped dramatically over the last few years, making them affordable for many home consumers. Heck, there are even some monitors with even higher resolutions now.
While many manufacturers are producing lower-priced 4K displays, ViewSonic is apparently going in the opposite direction. Today, the company introduces a beautiful new 27-inch 4K display with professional features, such as 99 percent Adobe RGB and HDR10. It even has USB-C video connectivity, which is perfect for Apple's MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, the price is sky-high, putting it out of reach for most.
"The ViewSonic VP2785-4K offers 4K UHD resolution, a wide color gamut and consistent performance with 99 percent Adobe RGB and 98 percent DCI-P3 colors and factory calibration to achieve Delta E <2 across multiple color spaces. Hardware calibration capability allows users to ensure best-in-class color accuracy, while the built-in uniformity function guarantees screen consistency. With USB 3.1 Type C, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity options, the VP2785-4K can be used with a variety of external devices. The HDCP 2.2 input provides content protection for 4K content playback, streaming and gaming," says ViewSonic.
The company also shares, "Professional-grade features built into the ViewSonic VP2785-4K deliver richer color, contrast and enhanced details of content. From Broadcast and Cinema Presets for EBU, Rec.709, SMPTE-C and DCI with ready color spaces and gamma values; as well as Film Mode for smoother video playback, the VP2785-4K also supports HDR10 (High Dynamic Range) content decoding and playback. Skilled creative professionals will appreciate the built-in ambient light sensor, presence sensor, and KVM switch, which provide superior screen performance."

The VP2785-4K has plenty of video connection options. Besides the aforementioned USB-C, there are two HDMI ports, one full-size DisplayPort, and one Mini DisplayPort. There is even a 3-port USB Type-A hub. The company seemingly refers to the hub as a "KVM switch" but this appears to be an error. BetaNews will reach out to the company for clarification, though.
So, how much does the VP2785-4K cost? The MSRP is $1,200! If you are a professional, and color accuracy is a must, maybe this is for you. With that said, there are lower-priced options out there with similar specifications. Still, the ViewSonic brand is known for quality -- there's a reason it has been around for 30 years! The premium could be worth it for some buyers where budgets don't matter and compromises won't be made.
If you have $1,200 to spend and you need the features found here, you can purchase it later this month at the usual retailers.
