Windows 2000 Released to Testers - March 9th?

Microsoft's loyal beta testers are just starting to receive their copy of the OS. Ironically, when asked earlier today when testers would get their copies, Microsoft stated that the OS would arrive next week. So this week, when the brown uniformed UPS deliverer showed up at some testers' doors, they never thought the package that was waiting for them would be their beloved Windows 2000 boxed copy.

Most testers will receive their copy starting tomorrow, and only testers near Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington were lucky enough to get theirs today.

What is so different about this complimentary copy, is that not only is it the actual boxed version that consumers buy in stores, it is a FULL copy. This means that the software can be either installed fresh, or used as an upgrade. This version of Windows 2000 retails for $200 USD.

If your a Windows 2000 tester you can "track" your copy through UPS at the following: http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi?build_trn=yes. Use ronlan as the reference number and enter in your zip code or postal code and your country. Testers in the United States should receive their copy of Windows 2000 tomorrow.
