Can We Join the Club?

GlobeDrive, based in New York, is set to unveil its flagship software, amidst a growing controversy and legal war being waged on the music front. The new peer-to-peer file sharing application developed at GlobeDrive allows users to connect and share files much the same as other applications, but its one distinct feature has the RIAA and the music industry sweating bullets.

This distinct feature makes it so that not just any person can view the network and share files, but only special invited people may. The password protected, invite-only network keeps the wandering eyes of the legal watchdogs away from your activities.

Yossi Krasnjanski, GlobeDrives CEO, told reporters that the company is already in talks with the recording industry with regards to copyrights and piracy.

Once a user downloads and installs the program they must wait for an invitation to one of many possibly existing groups. The catch however, is that no list of such groups exists and therefore, the user must wait for an invitation to the extremely private and secret group.

Certificates are sent out to verify a users authenticity to access the downloads, and central servers at GlobeDrive control which users can share information within their group and which members can just simply download and share files.

Another unique feature of GlobeDrive is its ability to allow sharing of peripheral devices such as printers and fax machines.
