Creative's Photo Player Finally Ships

Digital music player manufacturer Creative has apparently started to ship the Zen Micro Photo in the United States, almost a half a year later than originally announced. The company told BetaNews in June that the new Zen would be delayed until August, but the player failed to materialize. Company officials refused to comment on the reason for the delay.

Originally announced in 5GB and 6GB models priced at $299 and $349 USD, the released Zen Micro Photo includes 8GB of capacity at $249 USD. Creative has already experienced price pressures from market-leading Apple. In fact, in the second quarter Creative blamed its MP3 players for pushing its business far into the red.
