OnePlus 5 may be available in four color options
As we are getting closer to the launch of the eagerly-awaited OnePlus 5, we are learning more things about the upcoming flagship killer. We know its name, when it will be released, and what sort of improvements we can expect to see in the camera department.
And now, thanks to a new teaser posted by OnePlus on Twitter, we also have a pretty good idea about the color options that could be available for the OnePlus 5 and how many there will be.
If you are familiar with the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, then you know that potential buyers did not have many options available. Until more recently, when limited quantities of black OnePlus 3T units were offered, it was a choice between silver/gray and gold.
With the OnePlus 5, the company may offer it in black, red and gold and what is referred to as "unicorn" from the get-go. I say "may" because we do not know for sure if the OnePlus 5 will actually be offered in (all) of the color options shown in the teaser. It is, however, likely that at least black, red and gold will make the cut.
The black version seems to have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from potential buyers. Also, OnePlus may have now figured out a way to make it ready for mass production, which was a problem before, and that would make sense given the fact that we've seen a few black editions of the OnePlus 3T launch this year.
In the coming period we expect to hear more about the OnePlus 5, as the company is likely to post more information about its flagship killer to drum up more interest ahead of the big launch. If you want to take a look at the rumored specs and price, check this story.
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei suggests that we may see a change regarding the headphone jack. It is standard on the OnePlus 3T, but, like an increasing number of vendors, OnePlus may drop it for its next product.
