DirecTV NOW comes to Roku
DirecTV is a popular satellite service for those who don't or can't get cable TV. Many people love it, especially because of its exclusive NFL Sunday Ticket experience.
Roku is also a bit of a darling to people. The tiny box continues to add new "channels" that enhance the functionality of the device.
Now the two are coming together as DirecTV NOW launches on Roku. The service was created by AT&T and it will be available on Roku TV 4K models, the Roku Ultra, Roku Premiere+, Roku Premiere, Roku Express, Roku Express+, Roku Streaming Stick (model 3600R), Roku 4, Roku 3 and Roku 2.
"Roku is a leader in streaming entertainment and millions of homes in the US have Roku devices," says Brad Bentley, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, AT&T Entertainment Group. "DirecTV NOW is about bringing customers entertainment their way, so launching on the Roku platform was an important part of our strategy."
This brings 120 channels with no annual contract and a free one month trial -- there is no credit check or satellite dish required. Once your free month is up, you can either cancel or be billed $35 per month. This will bring you live channels as well as on-demand. There are bigger packages available -- anything from 50 to 120 channels, ranging from $35 to $70.
