Vectr is a polished vector editor you can use almost anywhere

Vectr-768x451

Vectr is a well-designed cross-platform vector editor with a strong focus on sharing and collaboration. The simple interface may look basic, at least initially: a few basic shapes, pen, pencil and text tools and not much else.

A bonus "More Shapes" panel is just one click away, though, giving you arrows, stars, lightning bolts, image and calendar icons, and assorted other clipart-type designs.

If that’s not enough, Vectr can import and edit SVGs, or import bitmaps to use as a background.

Any object can be customized with a color, fill type (including radial and linear gradient), border, shadow and opacity.

You’re able to group multiple objects together to work on them at once, or place objects on different layers to build more complex designs.

Projects are stored online by default. That’s convenient if you want to start a project on one device and continue it on another, and it could also be useful if you want to collaborate on images with others.

Export options go beyond the usual file saves to PNG, JPG or SVG. You also get a live link that anyone can use to immediately view your design (they don’t need Vectr installed), or you can share it directly on Facebook or Twitter.

Vectr’s core editor isn’t the most powerful around, but it’s easy to use, and its online project storage, wide platform support, web interface and Chrome app are all major pluses. Give it a try.

Vectr is a free application for Windows, Linux and Mac.
