Microsoft's Bing says Denny Hamlin will win Daytona 500 -- do you agree, Nascar fans?
This weekend is the Daytona 500. I won't be watching. While I absolutely love cars, Nascar has never been my thing. Race cars going in a circle? Meh. Daytona USA for Sega Saturn is one of my favorite games of all time, however, but I digress.
Even though Nascar isn't for everyone, it is still very popular with many. Not only do people like to watch the event as spectators, but some folks like to gamble on it too. If you are planning to put some money on the race, Microsoft may have some useful information for you. The company's Bing Predicts division is saying Denny Hamlin will win the race. Actually, the Windows-maker has predicted the top 5 positions.
"Vroom. Vroom. You know what that sound is? Rubber hitting the pavement and NASCAR in all its glory. The DAYTONA 500 is on this weekend and Bing is a finely-tuned, heavy-horsepower search engine to help you stay in the race. Bing search results for NASCAR topics give you the lowdown on the teams, drivers, standings, schedule, latest news, and more for the first Sprint Cup Series," says The Bing Team.
The team further says, "Who do you have taking the race? We feel pretty good about who Bing predicts. As NASCAR season progresses we’re looking to bring NASCAR fans and newcomers the latest information and predictions for all the races so make checking in with Bing part of your NASCAR routine."
While Bing Predicts is not infallible, it actually has a pretty good track record. Keep in mind, these are predictions -- not a sure thing. In other words, if you do use Microsoft's predictions for betting purposes, you can still lose. Don't blame the company if you lose money betting with this data.
Do you agree with Microsoft's predictions? Tell me in the comments.
