You can make unlimited Zoom calls for free this Thanksgiving
Like many things happening in 2020, Coronavirus means that Thanksgiving is going to be very different to previous years. While friends and family would normally gather together, COVID means that more of this year's celebrations will be held remotely.
And with this in mind, Zoom is here to help. Over the Thanksgiving period, the company is lifting its 40-minute limit on calls and will let everyone -- all over the world -- make calls of unlimited length for free.
The company announced its plans to give users with free accounts the ability to make longer calls a couple of weeks ago, but we thought it was worth giving you a reminder.
Zoom gave details of the special Thanksgiving Day offer in a tweet, saying:
As you can see, the time limit is being lifted globally, but you'll need to match up with US Eastern time if you're in a different part of the world. If you're on the West Coast, for instance, unlimited calls are available from 9:00 PM PT on November 25 to 3:00 AM PT on November 27. In the UK this corresponds to 5:00 AM GMT on November 26 to 11:00 AM GMT on November 27, while in Europe it is 6:00 AM CEST on November 26 to 12:00 PM CEST on November 27.
