Spotify provides music for the whole family with one plan
The music streaming business continues to grow and actually buying tracks seems to be heading for the distant memory pile. Spotify is one of the top competitors in this growing industry. The competition forces each business to differentiate itself and today Spotify does that.
The streaming service is announcing a new Family Plan. This option brings tunes to up to four people, all under one monthly bill. Each of the people on the account will be able to keep their playlists, history and recommendations completely separate.
"Having a family can be expensive. But music doesn’t have to be. With Spotify Family, you can add up to four family members to your account, and each additional user gets up to 50 percent off Spotify Premium", says Spotify's Diego Planas Rego.
"It’s great for big families with lots of different devices, as everyone can play at once. No more interruptions when mum logs in. No more fighting over Calvin vs Lionel", Rego explains.
The plan isn't actually available yet, but the page is up and claims it is "coming soon". Pricing isn't listed, but it does say you will save 50 percent for each user. No time frame for the release was given in the announcement.
