Novell Releases NDS for Linux

Novell, Inc. released versions of their NDS eDirectory and NDS Corporate Edition software for the Linux operating system yesterday. NDS eDirectory has been praised for its ability to integrate existing mixes of Unix, NetWare, Linux, Windows 2000 and Windows NT servers and clients under a single directory structure.

NDS eDirectory is described as a “full-service, open standards-based directory that is the foundation for managing network resources across all leading operating systems in one Net environments.”

Novell believes that by “managing and securing resources across the net, NDS eDirectory eliminates the gap between enterprise and Internet, enabling Linux users to build and manage secure relationships with customers who want to use the Web.”

“Companies that want to harness the tremendous potential of e-business must connect with partners, suppliers and customers in a world of heterogeneous networks," said Dave Shirk, a Senior VP at Novell. "By delivering eDirectory across major operating systems, including Linux, Novell gives businesses the power to transcend traditional network boundaries and to create a secure foundation for conducting business across the Net."

Licenses for NDS eDirectory are available for $2 USD per user. Licenses for NDS Corporate Edition are also available for $26 USD per user.
