Respawn and Electronic Arts reveal Titanfall 2 release date for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4
While E3 2016 doesn't officially begin until June 14th, gaming news is starting to come fast and furiously. For example, the new Xbox One S console has leaked prematurely; I am sure Microsoft is not happy about this.
Electronic Arts and Respawn on the other hand, have chosen to intentionally release information early regarding one of its fan-favorite franchises. Titanfall 2, the sequel to the wildly popular shooter, will be coming to Xbox One and PC this year. The title will also come to PlayStation 4; this is significant, as the original did not come to Sony's console. Curious of the release date? Read on for more info!
"In single player, Titanfall 2 will deliver a crafted experience that explores the unique bond between man and machine. Playable offline, the single player campaign in Titanfall 2 will let fans step out onto The Frontier as a Militia rifleman with aspirations of becoming an elite Pilot. Stranded behind enemy lines and facing overwhelming odds, players must team up with a veteran Titan to uphold a mission they were never meant to carry out. In multiplayer, Respawn is continuing to evolve their best-in-class gameplay to provide a more robust experience that delivers expanded depth and variety that includes six new Titans, deeper Pilot abilities, more customization options, and a robust progression system that is sure to satisfy fans", says Electronic Arts.
Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment explains "with the original Titanfall, we focused on nailing the gameplay and reinventing the way you move and fight in a first person shooter. With Titanfall 2, we're building on that foundation by introducing a bespoke single player campaign backed by a deeper multiplayer experience that together will once again push the shooter genre forward".
So when does Titanfall 2 come out? October 28, 2016. This release date is tentatively scheduled for a global simultaneous release on Xbox One, PC, and PS4, all for $59.99. There will, of course, be a Deluxe Edition released as well, including bonus content for $79.99. What does the extra $20 get you? EA shares the following.
- Exclusive Deluxe Nose Arts for each Titan
- Exclusive Deluxe Warpaints for each Titan
- Two Camouflages applicable to every Titan, Pilot and weapon
- Exclusive Deluxe Call Sign
- Nitro Pack (Pre-order only)
