Best Windows 10 apps this week
Four-hundred-twenty-six in a series. Welcome to this week's overview of the best apps, games and extensions released for Windows 10 on the Microsoft Store in the past seven days.
Microsoft announced Office 2021, a non-subscription based version of Office. In other news, the next feature update for Windows 10 is ready for testing. It will be a smaller update similar to Windows 10 20H2.

New Windows apps and games
Distant Desktop is a remote access application for Windows 7 and up, and Windows Server 2000 and up. The app uses AES encryption and Secure Realtime Protocol for video, audio and file transfers.
A base version is free for home use and Distant Desktop does not require installation. It supports multiple connections, text chat and voice communication support, a demonstration mode to view the desktop but not interact with it, and file transfers.
Journal, a Microsoft Garage project
Journal was developed as a Microsoft Garage project. The application is an "ink-first solution" to write out ideas, notes and sketches.
Microsoft notes that the app comes with "new AI", that it supports gestures, and connected experiences for Microsoft 365.
Content can be dragged and dropped, PDF documents and images can be imported and annotated, and there is a function to use filters and keyword searches.
