Blackmagic Design has launched the public beta for DaVinci Resolve 20, and folks… it’s a big one. This massive update to the video editing software adds more than 100 new features, and it’s available right now for folks using Windows, macOS, and Linux. And yes, there is even a Windows ARM version too!

This time around, the company is leaning into artificial intelligence pretty hard. After all, AI is all the rage these days -- it must be crammed in. All joking aside, the AI functionality actually seems useful. In other words, it shockingly doesn’t seem to be a gimmick.

Despite owning a fancy iPhone 16 Pro Max, I also have an iPad Air. Why? Well, even though my iPhone has a pretty big screen, sometimes I just want even bigger. Plus, I can use it when my iPhone is charging.

Why didn’t I go with an iPad Pro? Quite simply, Apple’s Pro tablets are too expensive for what I mostly use them for -- media consumption. Hell, I don’t need an expensive iPad Pro for watching TikTok on the toilet.

Microsoft is introducing new features in its AI Copilot program with Copilot Labs, a platform designed to test advanced tools on a limited scale before releasing them widely. The goal is to gather user feedback and refine the features, prioritizing both innovation and safety.

The first feature being rolled out is called “Think Deeper.” This tool allows Copilot to handle more complex tasks, providing detailed, step-by-step responses to queries like math problems or project cost analysis. Think Deeper takes more time to process information and aims to deliver thorough answers. It is currently available to a limited number of Copilot Pro users in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.

Opera continues to expand the capabilities of its browser with the introduction of new AI-driven features. The latest update to the Opera One Developer stream has introduced some very cool enhancements, including image generation and voice output capabilities, through its native AI, Aria.

Aria, Opera’s browser-based AI, now allows users to generate images directly from text prompts. This feature, powered by Google’s Imagen2 model, enables users to create unique visual content simply by describing their ideas in words. For instance, users can ask Aria to generate an image of a dog enjoying a vacation on a beach. If the initial result doesn’t meet expectations, there’s an option to regenerate the image with modifications, such as adding a drink or changing the color of the dog’s sunglasses.
