Kaspersky Labs VIRUS WARNING

Kaspersky Labs sent out a notice concerning a new virus that is "in the wild" today. Dubbed Hybris, the new Outlook worm can cause serious damage to a users computer, and is very advanced for virus writing. To quote the notice "'What we have here is perhaps the most complex and refined malicious code in the history of virus writing," from Eugene Kaspersky, Head of Company Anti-Virus Research Center.

Kaspersky Lab Warns Over PIF Format Files

As
new variants of the infamous ILOVEYOU virus continue to arrive on
users' PCs with monotonous regularity, Kaspersky Lab has warned users
to be on the lookout for a new generation of malware using the
program information file (PIF) file format.
The Russian IT security specialist said that while there are some
quite legitimate files being sent by e-mail with the PIF file
extension, PC users should nevertheless be very wary of any file with
a PIF extension.
Kaspersky Lab Talks About Non-PC Viruses

Kaspersky Lab, a Russian antivirus specialist, said that the recent upsurge of interest in antivirus protection for computerized home appliances, mobile phones and handheld computing devices has become one of the most discussed topics in the computer press, IT conferences and among IT specialists throughout the world.
Eugene Kaspersky, the firm's head of antivirus operations, said that the reason for this interest is quite clear: the world is moving very fast toward integrating IT into nearly all fields of human activity.
