OnePlus X now available without invite every Tuesday
Believe it or not, if you want to get your hands on a OnePlus smartphone you still need to have an invite ready. The OnePlus 2 "flagship killer" may be readily available to just about anyone willing to shell out between $349 and $399 on it, but its younger sibling, the more affordable OnePlus X which was introduced last month, can only be purchased with an invite.
In other words, it is much easier to buy a flagship-grade smartphone, that costs at least $100 more, than it is to get a mid-ranger. Quite puzzling, isn't it? That said, if you are interested in OnePlus X, and don't have an invite, it is now possible to purchase the device without any of the usual drama on Tuesdays.
OnePlus 2, One will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow in early 2016
Even though Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been around for more than a month, only a handful of vendors have revealed their upgrade plans. OnePlus is the latest to join the list, announcing when OnePlus 2 and OnePlus One users should expect to see the new mobile operating system on their devices.
OnePlus says that its latest "flagship killer", OnePlus 2, will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the first quarter of next year, which is when its first smartphone, OnePlus One, is also expected to get the corresponding CyanogenOS update.

OnePlus X launches with premium design, mid-range specs and $249 price tag
OnePlus is taking a break from challenging flagships, as today the company announces its first mid-range smartphone. Called OnePlus X, it sports a premium design, competitive hardware specifications and a price tag of just $249. In keeping up with tradition, it too will require an invite come purchase time, but this is said to only last for the first month after going on sale.
The lower price tag -- compared to the OnePlus 2 flagship -- might lead you to believe that OnePlus X is lacking in the hardware department, but the new smartphone is actually quite impressive in terms of specs. You get quite a lot more than the price tag might suggest.
OnePlus partners with Foxconn to ramp up smartphone production
India is an important market for burgeoning smartphone operator OnePlus, but in the past 12 months the company has failed to deliver smartphones at a fast rate.
It plans to fix that with a Foxconn partnership to build 500,000 units per month at peak production in India. The phones will be manufactured at Foxconn’s Rising Stars factory, a 30,000 square foot facility located in Andhra Pradesh.
Buy OnePlus 2 without an invite today!
OnePlus has announced that its sought-after Android flagship smartphone will be available to purchase without invite today, October 12. Consumers interested in getting their hands on OnePlus 2 will have a one-hour window to complete their purchase before the company goes back to its invite-only system.
This is the first time that OnePlus 2 is officially sold without an invite, so, to avoid any issues with the ordering system, the one-hour window will start at noon in every major region. Outside of it, consumers will need to have an invite to snap up a OnePlus 2.
New OnePlus smartphone to launch around Christmas
With the OnePlus 2 officially announced, the Shenzhen-based startup is starting work on its third smartphone, set for launch near Christmas. OnePlus CEO Carl Pei confirmed plans to launch the smartphone around that time in an interview with USA Today.
Pei said it may or may not be higher spec than the OnePlus 2, and did not branch off into any more details. Rumors of the OnePlus Mini, Plus and Ultra have all been published, but we have yet to see any concrete proof of a size change.

One of the year's most anticipated smartphones, the One Plus 2, is finally here. Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus announces today that it is releasing its new flagship. Successor to the "2014 flagship killer", the new phone has fans perking up their ears.
Much like its predecessor, the OnePlus 2 isn't a slouch when it comes to specifications. It sports a 5.5-inch display of FHD (1,920 x 1,080) screen resolution. The company says that anything beyond FHD display on a phone "adds nothing to the user experience". The device is powered by a second generation Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage.

OnePlus has been dropping hints on the OnePlus Two for a few months now, but one part we haven’t seen is the design. Chinese wireless regulator TENAA fixed that, by showing all four sides of the OnePlus Two.
We are not sure if TENAA meant to upload the images or if there was an issue internally. Usually, phone manufacturers make sure regulators don’t publicize images of the phone before release, a request usually granted.

OnePlus has free Google Cardboard VR headsets for everyone!

The company announces today that it will be launching a new flagship smartphone called the OnePlus Two next month.
The company says that it will be hosting an unusual VR event on July 27 at 10PM ET to launch the OnePlus Two. "In our industry, product launches tend to be the same. An auditorium, a keynote, and a seated audience. For the OnePlus 2 launch, we didn’t want that barrier between us and you," OnePlus wrote in a blog post today.
