Apple Fans Eagerly Await Jobs' Keynote

Apple's celebrity CEO Steve Jobs will deliver his annual Macworld keynote address at 9AM PST tomorrow from the Moscone Center in San Francisco. While the exact content of Jobs' keynote has not been disclosed, it is rumored that Jobs will unveil a sub-$500 iMac targeted toward Windows users who own iPods.

Other items to be announced this week may include a line new of low-cost Flash based iPods and a productivity suite called "iWork."

Despite its best efforts to shutter out the media, a creeping but steady flow of Macworld leaks courtesy of Apple enthusiast site Think Secret have shined light on Apple's plans to debut 1 GB and 2GB Flash memory based iPods, along with a larger 5GB iPod mini this week.

Apple has also failed to contain rumors about an upcoming productivity suite called "iWork," which will tout a new document creation program called Pages. Think Secret also disclosed details on Apple's upcoming iLife 2005 application suite.

While none of the reports have been confirmed by Apple, the company has filed suit against Think Secret and several unknown informants who tipped off the site, revealing what Apple has refers to as "trade secrets."

"We're confident that Think Secret's reporting is consistent with the rights protected by the First Amendment. The complaint is being reviewed, and Think Secret defers further comment until it has been analyzed. We're seeking representation," Think Secret Publisher and Editor in Chief Nick dePlume told BetaNews.

The suit against Think Secret is the company's third act of litigation within the past several weeks. Another intellectual property case has been filed against two individuals for allegedly distributing pre-release copies of the next version of Mac OS X, code-named Tiger.

Action was also taken against unknown persons who leaked out product information for a future music creation dubbed "Asteroid". Think Secret was subpoenaed in that case, along with two additional Mac enthusiast sites.

The 2005 keynote is Jobs' first since returning to work in October following a bout with a treatable form of pancreatic cancer.
