Oracle Lightens Up 10g Database
Oracle has made available a version of its 10g database software that extends enterprise grid computing functionality to mobile workers. Oracle Database Lite 10g is billed as a solution that will make access to critical business information persistent and available in real-time to employees who work remotely.
As it does not require a permanent connection to backend systems, Oracle Database Lite 10g is geared toward developers who will be charged with building mission-critical database applications for mobile and embedded devices. Additionally, Oracle claims that its "Lite" release is consistent with the Overall 10g technology stack.
