Today, Google has made the latest beta of Chrome available for download, promising a 25%-35% speed boost over the latest stable version, and speeds nearly double that of the original Chrome beta, according to two Google benchmarks.

In Betanews tests of Chrome version 2.0.169.1 this afternoon, performance was 10.5% better than the last stable version. It also scored 100% on the Acid3 test, with much faster rendering.

While the design of Chrome remains essentially the same, this latest version includes full page zoom, autoscroll, form autofill, and side-by-side tab view.

Additionally, the Chrome team has unveiled The Official Chrome Blog to rally the browser's user and tester community.
