Best Windows apps this week

Two-hundred-and-four in a series. Welcome to this week's overview of the best apps, games and extensions released for Windows 10 on Windows Store in the past seven days.

Microsoft announced the Windows 10 Creators Update this week. It is likely coming out in March 2017, and you may read Wayne's article on it here for an overview of what it introduces.

As always, if I missed an app or game that has been released this week that you believe is particularly good, let me know in the comments below or notify me via email instead.

Check out last week's Best Windows apps post if you missed it.

The new Paint, Paint 3D, has been released as a preview for Windows 10 Insider builds.

The app showcases live content, news and replay content, and you can tune in to any show with a tap or click.

Zombie Anarchy is your typical "empire building" game in many regards. Build your base in a zombie apocalypse, and raid various locations and zombie bases to get extra stuff and improve your level.

The game is well designed but ships with the usual wait and grind, or pay, mechanics.

Notable updates

Star Wars: Commander picks up an update with content from Rogue One: A Star Wars story.

VLC Media Player updated with lots of crash, performance and other bug fixes.
