Facebook and Twitter have secret Harry Potter Easter eggs to celebrate 20 years of the Sorcerer's Stone
Today is the twentieth anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (or Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone depending on where you are in the world). To celebrate, Facebook has hidden a Potter-related Easter egg on the site, and Twitter is getting in on the action as well.
As Harry Potter is all about magic, it should come as little surprise that in order to unlock the Easter egg, you need to use the right magic words. Here's what you need to do...
If you type the name Harry Potter in a post, or the name of any of the four houses of Hogwarts (Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw... as if you didn't know), you'll be treated to a colorful, little animated treat.
The magic words change color, a magic wand slides into view and casts a spell. You can relive this animation -- as can anyone looking at your post -- by clicking the highlighted magic word. The Pottermore Facebook page alerted fans to the Harry Potter keyword, but failed to mention the houses. Over on Twitter, Pottermore revealed that Potter fans can unlock a special emoji:
