Tripp Lite MTB4-HUB3-01 is an elegant Thunderbolt 4 hub with 8K video support
Tripp Lite is a company that I am very familiar with -- for high-quality power strips and surge protectors. When someone asks me what brand of surge protector they should buy to protect their picey desktop computer or other electronics, I usually recommend Tripp Lite. Are its power products a bit expensive? When compared to some other brands, I suppose so. With that said, that company's gear is typically well worth the premium.
Apparently, Tripp Lite also akes other types of computer accessories these days, including an all-new Thunderbolt 4 hub. Called "MTB4-HUB3-01," it will turn one Thunderbolt 3/4 port into three Thunderbolt ports and one USB-A port. This hub can even charge your laptop with up to 60W of power. While not the first such hub on the market, its slim body does look quite elegant.

"The hub has three Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C) and supports the transmission of a single high-quality 8K video stream or dual 4K video signals, which is an upgrade from Thunderbolt 3. The Thunderbolt 4 ports transfer data at speeds up to 40 Gbps collectively. Users can cascade a total of six levels of Thunderbolt-compatible devices. There is also a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port (USB-A) with data transfer up to 10 Gbps," says Tripp Lite.

The company adds, "Smart charging technology identifies the charging requirements of connected devices so the ports deliver the right amount of power to charge devices safely and efficiently. The hub supports power input up to 100 watts with the included power supply and provides up to 60 watts for charging the host device. Each Thunderbolt 4 port supports up to 15 watts for downstream charging of connected devices, and the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port offers 0.9 amps."

The Tripp Lite MTB4-HUB3-01 Thunderbolt 4 hub has an MSRP of $400, but it can be had for much less from several retailers, such as CDW (here) and Shi (here). However, the lowest price I could find is $224.37 from PROVANTAGE (here). Please note: While only Windows and macOS support is listed, it may work with Linux too (your mileage may vary).
