Panda Introduces 'TruPrevent' Corporate Protection
Panda Software is gearing up for a new wave of corporate products that introduce new protection modules collectively named TruPrevent Technologies. With TruPrevent, Panda has added an additional layer of protection to its security line up that seeks out unknown viruses, malware and unauthorized users.
Panda claims that the technologies are interoperable with third party virus protection and versatile enough to be effective with or without updates, easing the burden for administrators.
In order to deliver promised benefits, TruPrevent Technologies covers a lot of ground. From behavior-based malware detection, to malicious network packet detector, to buffer overflow protection and security policy definition, Panda has sought to address the requirements of a preventative solution by including components that go beyond traditional antivirus programs.
Panda boasts that TruPrevent is a "good detective" that analyzes suspicious behavior in programs before intelligently blocking them without human intervention; in turn, network administration tasks are greatly simplified.
Corporate solutions now offered by Panda in beta form include, BusinesSecure with TruPrevent Technologies and EnterpriSecure with TruPrevent Technologies. Both products are designed to operate as a second tier of defense to other manufacturers' antivirus products. Each incorporates an integrated module for Microsoft Exchange dubbed ExchangeSecure.
Other modules offered are: DominoSecure, to protect Lotus Notes and Domino workgroup solutions; SendmailSecure, QmailSecure and PostfixSecure, to protect Linux SMTP mail gateways; MIMEsweeperSecure, for MIMEsweeper; CVPSecure, for Check Point FireWall NG and other CVP firewalls; ProxySecure, for Microsoft Proxy 2.0; ISASecure to bring antivirus protection to Microsoft ISA servers, and SambaSecure.
A product called ClientShield is positioned to fortify workstations against all types of malicious code such as spyware, dialers, hoaxes, and joke programs. The software also blocks spam and has intrusion detection technology built in.
FileSecure protects all versions of Windows file servers from Windows NT 4 and up with added protection for Novell NetWare servers versions 4,5 and 6. Panda says that the software is clusters agnostic - delivering the same level of performance for each installation.
To stop viruses at the command line, Panda is offering CommandlineSecure as a system to allow its antivirus engines to be built into third party applications for DOS, Windows and several Linux operating environments.
