Emergency update for Kodi 18 'Leia' fixes internet access issue and more

While the Kodi Foundation's focus is squarely on Kodi 19 'Matrix', a technical change from Cloudflare has caused problems with its predecessor, Kodi 18 'Leia', and result is a new update which fixes this and a number of other problems.

Cloudflare’s change causes significant issues with HTTP access to any site using them, such as metadata sources and streaming add-ons. Kodi 18.9 offers a workaround for this problem.

Microsoft releases Windows 10 Build 20241 with theme-aware splash screens for apps

Yesterday, Microsoft began rolling out the latest feature update for Windows 10. The long-awaited October 2020 Update -- or 20H2 if you prefer -- comes with a number of new features, such as improvements to Microsoft Edge, a refreshed Start menu, new Settings, and better notifications.

Microsoft releases first build of its Edge browser for Linux

We’ve known for a while that Microsoft has been working on a Linux version of its new Chromium Edge browser, and today the software giant announces the first build for users to try.

Today’s release supports Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and openSUSE distributions and Microsoft says going forward it will be releasing new builds on a weekly basis.

Microsoft releases Windows 10 Build 20236 with the ability to change the refresh rate of your display

Windows Insiders on the Dev Channel get another new Windows 10 build to play with today.

Build 20236 adds the ability to change the refresh rate of a selected display by going to Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings. The rates on offer will vary depending on what your hardware supports, but a higher refresh rate should deliver smoother motion.

Redesigned Windows 10 with blur effects looks incredible!

Windows 10 is a decent operating system, but it isn’t what you’d call exciting to look at. The recent Start menu update, with a translucent background, and new Fluent Design icons, is definitely a step in the right direction, but it doesn’t go far enough.
