ThousandEyes delivers improved network visibility for enterprises
The internet and the cloud are now a key part of the infrastructure for many enterprises. But the advantages of scale, flexibility and cost can come at a price of complexity, reliability, and vulnerability.
Network intelligence company ThousandEyes is releasing Endpoint Agent, which provides a way to measure end-user experience and network behavior for every network that employees use to access critical services.
ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent extends network intelligence to employee laptops and desktops, as well as the enterprise network access infrastructure. It enables IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve end-user performance issues for any application, whether it's deployed on-premise or in the cloud.
"Our customers already rely on ThousandEyes to understand how network behavior impacts application delivery, from the Internet to the corporate network. As their workforce becomes more distributed and mobile, these insights need to extend all the way to the end user," says Mohit Lad, CEO and co-founder of ThousandEyes. "Our Endpoint Agent technology presents a comprehensive view of user experience together with underlying network dependencies. It's built for IT teams to gain a complete understanding of application behavior and network performance from every user to every application".
Endpoint Agent is deployed as client software on the Windows and Mac machines in the organization and gathers application and network performance data for the browser-based web applications. It measures end-user experience by automatically extracting performance data from the browser, via extensions for Chrome and Internet Explorer, whenever users go to a site admins have chosen to monitor. This extension also triggers the collection of network performance data. In addition Endpoint Agent gathers details from the operating system to understand VPN connections, proxies and Wi-Fi statistics.
