MSN Messenger Gets New Look

Microsoft today released a updated version to their MSN Instant Messenger software. The upgrade, version 3.5.0077, is considered a minor one by Microsoft, but it features an entire redesign of the GUI part of the client. In probably what is a bid to merge MSN products together with the MSN Browser, the MSN Instant Messenger now takes on the same look and feel as the recently released browser. The new look to the instant messenging client does give it a more solid and robust look and feel, getting away from the clunky old square window look. But comparing Messenger to instant messenging clients such as ICQ, MSN is still lacking in functionality and robustness only taking the features it does have to a modest extent. While it is a improvement over version 3.0, there is still major progress to be had.
