Now you can Google+ on iPhone
Well, so much for that Android exclusivity. But, hey, the iOS app appears to be for iPhone only. That's no iPad or iPod touch for you, bud.
So the big Google+ debut on iOS is somewhat muted by being tied down to the Jesus phone. On the other hand, iPad users can go to the service on the web and happily socialize there. Do you really need a separate app when the browser will do? Additionally, the approach makes sense for the mobile features, which are designed more for phones.
You'll need this link to get Google+ for iPhone. I searched the App Store from iPhone 4 and MacBook Air, but got back no results. Geez, where is Apple hiding this thing anyway? I had to go through the link as backdoor to the app, download to the computer and sync to iPhone.
The app offers Circles, Stream and Huddle but, near as I can tell, not Instant Upload, which makes sense since the feature uses Google's Picasa.
I'm too busy to really test the app or compare to its Android counterpart today. Apple earnings and a big payload of LulzSec leaked News Corp. emails drop this afternoon.
Google+ debuted three weeks ago today, with invites going out later that week. The invite-only service reached 10 million users within first 14 days. Will iPhone open the floodgates to more users. You tell me, please, in comments or the poll above.
