AMD announces 30 powerful new Ryzen and Radeon products for notebook and desktop PCs

The start of the new year is when most big hardware companies take the wraps off new and future products.

Today, at a Product Premiere livestream event, AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su (and the AMD executive team) showed off over 30 new products, including the Ryzen 7 5800X3D desktop processor -- the first consumer PC processor to feature 3D-stacked chiplets to deliver a major boost in gaming performance.

The company also provided the first look at the next-gen "Zen 4" processors built on 5nm process node and new Socket AM5, which will arrive in the second half of 2022.

The livestream announced:

• 20 new AMD Ryzen 6000 Series processors with the most powerful on-chip graphics available for notebook PCs.
• Three new AMD Radeon RX 6000S Series GPUs optimized for thin-and-light gaming laptops.
• Five new AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series GPUs for premium gaming laptops.
• The new Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 desktop graphics cards for 1080p gaming.
• Updated AMD smart technologies designed to boost performance and extend battery life on AMD Advantage laptops.
• The forthcoming AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition application featuring the new AMD Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) driver-based spatial upscaling technology.

Highlights to look forward to later this year -- and beyond -- include:

• 20 new AMD Ryzen 6000 Series processors: Built on the 6nm "Zen 3+" core architecture and including AMD RDNA 2 on-chip graphics for the fastest Ryzen experience ever, the new lineup includes the Ryzen 6000 U-Series for the perfect blend of performance and efficiency in thin and light notebooks and the Ryzen 6000 H-Series Mobile Processors for powerful gaming and creator laptops.
• Ryzen 7 5800X3D desktop processor: The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D desktop processor delivers the first AMD Ryzen processors with AMD 3D V-Cache technology to power incredible gaming experiences. Powered by the "Zen 3" core architecture, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D desktop processor is, according to AMD, the world’s fastest gaming processor, delivering an average of 5 percent faster 1080p gaming across select titles than the competition.
• Five new AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series and new Radeon RX 6000S Series mobile GPUs: The expanded Radeon RX 6000M mobile graphics lineup delivers epic gaming performance for next-gen premium laptops. The new Radeon RX 6000S mobile graphics lineup is optimized to bring power-efficient, high-performance gaming to incredibly thin-and-light laptops.
• Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 desktop graphics cards: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 desktop graphics cards are designed to make incredible 1080p gaming experiences for popular AAA and esports titles accessible to more gamers.
• Forthcoming AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition release: Includes AMD Radeon Super Resolution, a new driver-based upscaling technology that unleashes increased levels of performance with high-quality visuals in thousands of games.
• Updated AMD Advantage Framework and AMD 'Smart' Technologies: Updates to the AMD smart technologies portfolio include new AMD SmartShift Max, AMD SmartShift Eco, and AMD Smart Access Graphics to bring faster gaming performance and longer battery life to AMD Advantage laptops. AMD Advantage will continue to expand in 2022 with more than 20 new laptop designs.
