Satechi launches Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand for Apple iPhone and AirPods

One of the worst parts of traveling is packing your bags. Nothing is more annoying than when you arrive at to your destination and discover you forgot to put something in your luggage. In my case, I usually forget charging cables and adapters. Since I often travel with both my iPhone and AirPods Pro, I have to remember chargers for both if I want to juice them up simultaneously.

Thanks to a new product from Satechi, you can use one charger for several things, meaning fewer things to forget at home. Called "Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand," it can wirelessly charge both a smartphone and wireless earbuds at the same time. It even includes a USB-C port for charging a third device. To make it even more appealing, the stand also includes a 10,000mAH battery so you can charge devices when no outlet is nearby.

Silicon Power launches diminutive QP70 10000mAh Quick Charge USB power bank

Literally nothing in life is worse than when your device runs out of juice and you are nowhere near an outlet. OK, maybe I am exaggerating -- there definitely are worse things. With that said, it does stink when it happens. It can feel like you are without oxygen when you are disconnected from the internet, for instance. Not to mention, when it comes to smartphones, a dead battery can prevent you from calling 911 in an emergency.

That's why I always travel with a USB power bank when possible. These devices can keep your phone, tablet, or other devices topped off when you are not near an outlet. A power bank is also essential during a power outage. People that live in hurricane zones, for instance, should definitely own one.

Satechi unveils Apple-focused Quatro Wireless Power Bank

There are many power banks on the market these days, and for the most part, they are all very similar. These devices are essentially big batteries with USB ports designed to charge up your smartphone multiple times when on the go. When you can't find an outlet, these power banks can be a godsend, but also, they can be a critical tool during a power outage. If you live in an area that gets hit by hurricanes and/or tropical storms, you should absolutely own at least one of them -- a few if you have a family.

Today, Satechi unveils a new such product that is very Apple-focused. Called "Quatro Wireless Power Bank," it has a dedicated Apple Watch charger, Qi wireless charging (perfect for compatible AirPods), and both a USB-A and USB-C port. Not only is it designed with Apple devices in mind, but its overall aesthetics seem inspired by the iPhone-maker too. It features a matte black design, but the outer rim is surrounded by a beautiful shiny metal. It weighs 0.58 lbs and its dimensions are 6.4 x 2.9 x 0.7 inches.

ADATA announces a pair of fast-charging USB power banks with a lot of juice

Electricity is something we all take for granted -- you flip a switch and you instantly have light. It is like magic, if you think about it. When there is a blackout, however, we all quickly realize how dependent we are on electricity. Just recently, in the Northeastern USA, Tropical Storm Isaias wreaked major havoc. Here on Long Island (where I live) many folks were left without power for days. Not only did many families lose all of their refrigerated and frozen groceries, but they couldn't charge their smartphones either.

This is why it is essential that everyone own at least one USB power bank for emergencies -- during a blackout, you will be glad when you can charge your phone. ADATA recently launched two new USB battery packs with digital displays that should fit the bill. Called "P20000QCD" and "P10000QCD," the former offers a 20,000mAh battery, while the latter has 10,000mAh. They both have two USB-A ports, but P20000QCD also has two USB Type-C ports. The P10000QCD only has a single USB-C.

The DOOGEE N100 is a highly affordable phone with a big bastard battery

DOOGEE N100

When looking for a new phone, it's easy to just opt for the latest Android handset or iPhone -- people like the familiarity of sticking with the brands they know. But going down this route does not necessarily mean you get the most suitable phone, and it certainly doesn't mean that you'll get the cheapest.

The newly announced DOOGEE N100 may not be a familiar name, but if you're someone who doesn't like to be tethered to a charging cable, it's a handset that has a great deal to offer you. The phone boasts a colossal 10,000 mAh battery, giving up to 100 hours of talk time and 350 hours of standby, making it ideal for travelers -- but there's much more.

Apple significantly overstates iPhone battery life

Modern smartphones are fantastic, but they burn through battery life like no-one’s business. Most of us charge our devices overnight, but if you’ve used your phone a lot in the day, there’s a good chance you’ll have needed to top up the battery at least once at some point -- especially if your handset is getting on a bit.

Few people choose a smartphone based solely on its battery life (as the abject failure of the 18,000mAh battery-toting Energizer P18K shows) but it is still an important consideration. If you’ve found you’re not getting as much life from your phone as the manufacturer claimed, you won’t be too surprised to see an investigation by consumer champion Which? came to the same conclusion.

Omnicharge Omnimobile high-powered USB-C power bank [Review]

I crave juice. No, not apple, orange, or any other fruit drink -- I am addicted to electricity. Look, we are all hopelessly dependent on our mobile devices these days. Between laptops, smartphones, and tablets, there is hardly a moment in the day when I'm not staring at a screen. Even when I am watching TV (yet another display), I have my iPad in hand for a second screen experience -- I play a lot of Words With Friends while watching The Big Bang Theory reruns.

All of this heavy device usage at home is fine, because there are many power outlets available when batteries get low. When I am on the go, however, it is a very different story. All joking aside, I get anxiety if I'm out of the house and my iPhone battery dies. What if I get lost? What if I need to call 911?  What if I need to snap a quick photograph? A nightmare! Thankfully, USB power packs/banks can solve this dilemma. If you aren't familiar, it is simply a battery with a USB port (or ports) that can charge your devices.
