SMART Modular Technologies unveils rugged T6EN PCIe/NVMe SSDs for critical applications

SMART Modular Technologies has annnounced its new T6EN PCIe/NVMe flash drives, tailored for aerospace, defense, and industrial use. The new SSD family is available in U.2, E1.S, and M.2 2280 form factors, providing flexibility for specific application needs. The U.2 version offers up to 15TB in storage capacity, while the E1.S and M.2 2280 models offer up to 8TB. All versions utilize 3D TLC flash memory.
“Our new T6EN SSDs deliver a rich, ruggedized feature set coupled with our proprietary security algorithms, erase trigger, and hardware write-protection,” said Mike Guzzo, senior director of SMART’s RUGGED line of flash products.
Greenliant unveils tough NVMe M.2 ArmourDrive SSDs

Greenliant is rolling out its latest line of high-endurance NVMe M.2 2242 and 2280 ArmourDrive EX Series SSDs, and these aren’t your run-of-the-mill drives. We’re talking serious longevity here -- up to 75,000 and even 150,000 program-erase (P/E) cycles. If you’re dealing with the harshest conditions, from the freezing cold to scorching heat (-40 to +95 degrees Celsius), these drives are up for the job. Greenliant is targeting industries like aerospace, defense, and transportation.
But that’s not all. Alongside these heavy-duty EX Series drives, Greenliant is introducing the NVMe M.2 2242 and 2280 ArmourDrive PX Series SSDs. These come with high-quality industrial TLC 3D NAND that supports up to 5,000 P/E cycles. They’re fine-tuned for performance and energy efficiency. Plus, the drives come in the 2280 (GLS88AS) and compact 2242 (GLS88CS) form factors. If you’re working with tight spaces, these slim, single-sided SSDs have you covered.
Transcend introduces MTE730P industrial-grade PCIe M.2 22110 SSD

Transcend has unveiled its first industrial-grade PCIe M.2 22110 SSD, the MTE730P, designed for a range of industrial environments. The SSD includes Power Loss Protection (PLP) technology, which maintains data integrity during power fluctuations. With PCIe Gen 4 support and capacities up to 4TB, the MTE730P is suited for use in automation, data centers, blade servers, and other modern storage needs.
The SSD delivers sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,500MB/s and 6,700MB/s, respectively, thanks to 112-layer 3D NAND flash and an 8-channel controller. It also features components such as 30µ” PCB gold finger, Corner Bond, and anti-sulfur resistors for durability. The MTE730P is built to operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C, ensuring performance in harsh conditions.
Transcend unveils MTE560P M.2 SSD

Transcend has unveiled its latest solid state drive. Called “MTE560P,” this drive features 112-layer 3D NAND Flash technology. It has a compact design with dimensions measuring 80 mm by 22 mm by 3.88 mm and weighs just 9 grams. It adopts the M.2 2280 form factor with a NVMe PCIe Gen4 x4 interface. The storage capacity is 160GB only.
Performance metrics for the SSD are good, with sequential read and write speeds reaching up to 3,800 MB/s and 3,000 MB/s, respectively. The drive also delivers respectable random 4K read/write input/output operations per second (IOPS) with up to 190,000 read IOPS and 420,000 write IOPS. It boasts a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 3,000,000 hours and supports up to 5,580 terabytes written (TBW) over its lifespan. The drive writes per day (DWPD) rating is 31.8 over a three-year period.
