Amazon Echo, Echo Dot finally come to UK and Germany

FamilyShot_centered

Amazon released Echo in the US a year ago, and has introduced a wealth of additional features to it since. You can use the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled cylindrical speaker to get answers to your questions, order food, request a taxi, play music and even control your home.

For those of us in Europe the wait for Echo -- and its personal voice assistant Alexa -- has been a long one, but today the retail giant announces the device is finally set to be made available in the UK and Germany.

The device will officially launch on September 28, although pre-orders are available now. Partners at launch will include Jamie Oliver, Spotify, Sky News, and Uber.

The device will have a British accent, and be available in black or white.

The Amazon Echo is priced at £149.99, but Prime subscribers who order in the next two days will be able to get it for £99.99, quite some saving.

In addition to Echo, Amazon will be introducing the Echo Dot for £49.99. This is a tiny disc shaped version that lets you add Alexa to any room. It's also available in both black and white.
