Google Calendar for iPhone released

Google has announced the release of its Google Calendar app for iPhone, an iOS version of the Android app released late last year.

Both editions are strong on scheduling, taking gmails like flight bookings and hotel reservations and automatically turning them into calendar events.

When you create an event manually, Google's Assists speed up the process by suggesting appropriate people, places and titles as you type.

Whatever you’re doing, "Schedule View" customizes it with maps, photos, cityscapes and more.

The app works with all the calendars on your phone, too, including Exchange and iCloud.

Google Calendar's Android release has also been updated to version 5.1, with highlights including a 7-day week view, pinch-to-zoom, and the option to add Google Drive files to events.

Other additions include the ability to import .ics files from Gmail, and control over whether birthdays from Google+ are shown.

Google Calendar’s latest releases are available now.
