Debian-based deepin Linux 20.2 is here and you should switch from Windows 10 now!

Debian is a great operating system in its own right, but also, it makes for an excellent base for other Linux distributions as well. For example, Ubuntu is probably the most well-known Linux distro and it is based on Debian. There are countless other operating systems, such as Netrunner, that stand on Debian's figurative shoulders.

The prettiest and most exciting Debian-based operating system, however, is deepin. This Chinese-developed Linux distribution is probably the most beautiful desktop operating system on the planet; it is arguably better than both Apple's macOS and Microsoft's Windows 10 in the style department. deepin has what some consider the most beautiful and intuitive user interfaces.

Today, deepin Linux 20.2 becomes available and if you are running Windows 10, you should consider switching now! Seriously, folks, deepin is that good. Not to mention, China is one of the best allies of the United States, and it is nice to see developers from that country providing such beauty to the Linux community. Open source can unite the world!

The drop-dead gorgeous deepin 20.2 is based on the rock-solid Debian 10.8. The operating system uses your choice of Linux kernel 5.10 or 5.11, the former oft high is long term support (LTS). There are updates to several of the stock apps, of course, but more importantly, the developers promise deepin 20.2 is now more stable while also being faster.

"By reducing memory occupation of deepin applications, and overall optimization of conventional operations, you will get a faster startup of desktop components and applications, as well as faster response. Besides that, thanks to code optimization, you will enjoy enhanced system performance and smoother user experiences," explains the deepin developers.

The devs further say, "Disk Utility has a new feature -- verify or repair bad sectors, adds support for FAT32 and NTFS partitions, and fixes some issues, helping you protect disk health and manage disks easily. Mail supports these new features: send emails at the specified time, email signatures, capture screen, etc., and optimizes many rules in different scenarios such as receiving and sending emails, searching emails, etc."
