Kioxia launches 2Tb QLC flash memory

Kioxia has announced the start of sample shipments for its new 2Tb Quad-Level-Cell (QLC) memory devices, leveraging its eighth-generation BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory technology. This release represents the highest capacity offering within the industry to date, aimed at addressing the needs of AI and other high-demand applications.

The 2Tb QLC product features a bit density that is approximately 2.3 times higher and a write power efficiency around 70 percent greater than Kioxia's previous fifth-generation QLC device. It includes a 16-die stacked architecture within a compact package size of 11.5 x 13.5mm and a height of 1.5mm, achieving a total capacity of 4TB.

Kioxia unveils TransMemory U304 USB flash drive

Kioxia has announced its new TransMemory U304 series of USB flash drives. One of the key attributes of the TransMemory U304 series is the slide-click mechanism that allows users to extend and retract the USB-A connector with a single push. This feature includes an auto-return mechanism that retracts the connector automatically once disconnected, helping to prevent damage during transport.

The U304 series comes in three color options: light blue, magenta, and black, offering users a choice based on their personal preference. Additionally, the flash drives are designed with a strap hole, allowing them to be easily attached to bags or keychains, which enhances portability and reduces the risk of losing the device.

Today, Micron unveils the 3500 NVMe solid state drive. This SSD leverages 232-layer NAND to meet the demanding requirements of business applications, scientific computing, high-end gaming, and content creation.
