Through a glass darkly: Nike sues Lululemon over mirror

In my bio below you'll see a picture of me sporting my new digital camouflage Lululemon Surge Warm Half-Zip that had arrived the night before writing this. Inside the box was a card trying to sell me something called Lululemon Mirror. The image on the card was very similar to what Lululemon has on their site (see image at the top).

My first reaction was "This looks like something Nike would make. I wonder if it'll claim to own the IP rights."

Here's when you can buy Apple Watch Nike+

Nike has long been a major player in all things sports. Its footwear and other apparel can often be found on the world's most popular athletes. True, the company pays those folks big bucks to wear the gear, but that does not detract from the fact that it is also quality stuff. Trust me, a comfortable pair of Nike sneakers is well worth the premium.

Nike and Apple have long been in business together -- even before the iPhone -- with Nike+iPod. The collaboration between these two strong brands makes a lot of sense. This Friday, the Apple Watch Nike+ will finally be available to consumers. Since Apple's wearable is so focused on fitness, this is likely the most cohesive and focused collaboration between the two companies.

Nike+ fitness tracking integrated into Xbox Kinect? Not so fast, Marathon Man

At the Microsoft E3 2012 Press Conference Microsoft executive Yusuf Mehdi talked about a rather amazing brand partnership, introducing Stefan Olander, Nike vice president. The Nike+ service, already made famous for its partnerships with Apple, and the ability to help track your workouts and keep you motivated to stay fit, is coming to the Xbox 360. Olander came on to show us the history of Nike+ and the goals of Nike to help empower the athlete in everyone to reach their peak of performance. A demo of footage of a title called Nike+ Kinect Training hit the jumbo screen with flashes of CGI models inter-spliced with live action human models demonstrating moves -- even flash of a screenshot showing the Nike+ app on a Windows Phone tracking a workout.

But not much else was talked about. Would Nike+ track you as you played all kinect titles? Would you know just how many calories you might have lost while shaking your money maker to the dance moves of Dance Central 3? Would you be able to know you not only saved the world with the Mutant, Magic, and Technology infused powers in Avengers: Battle For Earth? What about the workout you get from a magical onslaught you wrought upon the hoards of baddies in Fable: the Journey?

Nike to Offer 'iPod Ready' Shoes

Apple and Nike have agreed to collaborate to offer iPod users both apparel and accessories compatible with the iconic device. The two companies have announced specially designed footwear that would allow the wearer to use their iPod nano to monitor time, calories burned and pace. Additionally, the shoes could give real time audible feedback when used with headphones. The Nike+ Air Zoom Moire will be the first shoe to be "iPod ready."

"We're working with Nike to take music and sport to a new level," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "The result is like having a personal coach or training partner motivating you every step of your workout." The Sport Kit will be made available by this summer for $29 and would be available through Apple itself or authorized resellers. The launch of the device would also be accompanied by specially-designed Nike apparel, the two companies said.

Google took a step further into the content business on Thursday, kicking off a new community Web site dedicated to football, or soccer as it is known in the United States. Joga users can build their own football teams, find local fields and even play other nearby Joga teams. "Whether we've succeeded, of course, will be up to all of you to determine.
